Dental Hygiene and Checkups
Visit Museum Dental and keep your teeth and gums healthy by scheduling your oral hygiene appointment.
Dental hygiene treatment includes:
teeth cleaning
- removing harmful tartar and plaque build-up
- assessing the health and condition of your gums
- treating gingivitis and other serious periodontal (gum) disease issues
- checking your teeth for oral decay
- educating you about your dental health and related hygiene
It’s important not to overlook this very important component of your overall dental health. The amount of time between recalls is individualized to meet each patients needs. For some, 9 months is appropriate, while for others, we may want to see you more frequently at 3, 4 or 6 month intervals to address a specific concern.
It is an opportunity to have the dentist do an oral examination to ensure that no problems have arisen since the last examination. This is also important for our young patients to monitor the loss of baby teeth, and the progression of normal development.
The team of hygienists at Museum Dental play a key role in the long-term success of periodontal treatment plans. Regular periodontal maintenance appointments are important to help halt the progression of periodontal disease, and to help maintain the gums and bones that support the teeth. If periodontal disease is a problem for you, and it is for many adults, the dentist may prescribe more frequent scaling of the teeth in an effort to stay on top of the inflammation that causes so many problems for the periodontium (gums and underlying bones). This periodontal maintenance treatment plan will be individualized to ideally meet your needs.
