Pregnancy Gingivitis

Hi Everyone,

First off, we hope everyone had a good long weekend! Our post for the week if about pregnancy gingivitis. Since Rose, a member of our administrative team is pregnant, we thought we would do a special piece about it to educate everyone about the symptoms and how to treat them!

Pregnancy Gingivitis is the beginning stage of gum disease for women whose body defenses are weakened. Below are the signs to watch out for:

  • Bleeding Gums
  • Swollen, red, and tender gums
  • Bad Breath
If your gingivitis gets worse could lead to periodontal disease, which could lead to a premature birth. We recommend you have your teeth examined by your dentist and your gums checked by your hygienist before your pregnancy, then continue with every three months cleanings during the pregnancy. Brush twice a day and floss daily to keep your mouth healthy! Check out the video for the full explanation!
